Seed Potatoes

One of the great kiwi past times leading up to Christmas is preparing your own potatoes from seed. There is no better feeling than digging up your own, home grown spuds the day before Christmas and presenting them on the table for the family to tuck in to.

After a successful first season selling seed potatoes Intelligro is pleased to announce, in conjunction with Morton Smith-Dawe, the availability of three lines of seed potatoes for this coming season.

Jersey Bennes: This early crop potato takes approximately 80 to 90 days to mature. The waxy nature of this potato makes it ideal for boiling, salads, casseroles, soups and mashing.

Nadine: This popular potato variety is a mid-range crop taking approximately 80 to 90 days to mature. Much the same as the Jersey Bennes, the Nadine is a waxy potato also good for boiling, salads, casseroles and soups.

Agria: This main crop potato takes approximately 90 to 100 days to mature. The floury nature of this potato makes it ideal for boiling, mashing, baking, wedges and great for chips. This variety is a high yielder. Be in quick with this variety as we only have limited stock of this seed potato.

Don’t forget that every good seed potato needs equality as good fertiliser for the soil. A good combination of Sheep Pellets amongst the soil can provide an excellent environment for potatoes to grow in, otherwise try our specifically blended Potato Fertiliser in a 7kg bag.
